The high court in Vijayawada issued a directive to the Center to file counter affidavits in a PIL filed challenging the inaction of regulatory agencies in containing obscene content on Bigg Boss Reality Show. The petitioner, G.Siva Prasad Reddy, argued that the uncensored and unregulated content which is not suitable for underage children is being shown in the reality show which is spoiling the young generation. The court observed that it is the choice of viewers whether to watch the show or not, but for the participants to decide what to wear and watch if the show has not passed the test of the petitioner. When Reddy argued that obscene and explicit content is being shown in the show, the bench said there are far more vulgar things than Bigg Boss which can spoil the youth. The counsel for Star India Pvt. Ltd. and Maa TV said there are alternative remedies available to Reddy before the court to redress his grievances. Reddy directly moved the court.
