Kevin’s murder: Two key suspects held in Kannur

KANNUR: Police have arrested the key accused in the killing of Kevin P Joseph in Kottayam, from Kannur. According to police sources here, the absconding accused - Chacko John, who is the father of Kevin’s wife Neenu, and Shanu Chacko, who is her brother, were held from Karikkottakary in the suburbs of Iritty.
Though some police sources said the duo surrendered before the police in Karikkottakary, some other sources said they were held when they were planning to escape to Banagaluru.

Also, it is said that some of his their friends here refused to provide them shelter and this ultimately led to their arrest. They would be handed over to Kottayam police.
When contacted, district police chief G Siva Vikram confirmed their arrest but he refused to comment whether it was surrender or not.
It was on Monday that the body of Kevin was fished out from a canal in Thenmala, two days after he was abducted allegedly by Shanu and his friends for marrying Neenu against the family’s decision.
