Congress leader Gursimran Singh Mand who recently raked a controversy by wiping off the blackened statue of slain PM Rajiv Gandhi with his turban, on Tuesday, filed a complaint with the state human rights commission against his own party's senior leader and minister Vijayinder Singla blaming him for delay in the operation to rescue two-year-old fatehveer singh who fell into a borewell near Sangrur and died.

A day after two-year-old toddler, fatehveer singh of Sangrur district in Punjab, was retrieved dead from a borewell after passing of 100 odd hours, Punjab and Haryana high court HC Arora has written a letter to Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh suggesting certain solutions in rescue operations in cases where small children are trapped in borewells.

A petition relating to the death of a two-year-old child has been filed in the high court of Punjab and Haryana seeking direction to register a case under section 304A of the IPC against a deputy commissioner and other concerned officers.

A Bathinda woman has confessed to poisoning her eight-year-old daughter and six-year-old son with rat poison over several weeks.
