THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The screening of seven films of master craftsman Orson Welles, including Citizen Kane, will be the highlight of the seventh edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala, beginning here on Friday.

NEW DELHI: In a departure from tradition, a Finnish film instead of an Asian film will be screened at the closing day of the 33rd International Film Festival of India. The Finnish film, The Man Without A Past, winner of the Grand Prix award at the Cannes Film Festival 2002, will be the closing film at the fest.

Yesteryears leading lady Rekha is expected to be the guest of honour for the 39th International Film Festival of India.

About 154 films from 44 countries, including 12 Tamil films such as national award-winning ‘Aadukalam’, Sakthivelu's Maidhanam and Thoonganagarama, will be screened during the week-long event.

The 27th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) is going ahead as per schedule.

'James Bond' star Daniel Craig, 'Downfall' actor Bruno Ganz, and Oscar-winning directors Susanne Bier and Michael Haneke are among the 3,000 European film professionals, who have signed a petition calling for immediate action in Europe's refugee crisis.

The Dharmashala International Film Festival (DIFF) has announced the line-up for this year's event. The festival will also feature documentary films and the selection of five South Asian projects for Filmlab South Asia 2023.

The film that is most likely to stand in her way is Jonathan Glazer's German-language Nazi-era drama "The Zone of Interest", the British director's first narrative feature in a decade. Keeping rising Covid-19 cases in mind, the elaborate physical inauguration ceremony of the 27th edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival has been cancelled. The programme was to be held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium on January 7.

The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival has announced its line-up for 2023, featuring over 250 films spread over 10 days. The festival will showcase a diverse range of films, including over 40 World Premieres, 45 Asia Premieres, and 70+ South Asia Premieres. The main competition this year is the South Asia Competition, which aims to highlight breakthrough South Asian films. The festival also includes categories such as Focus South Asia, Icons South Asia, Marathi Talkies, and World Cinema, among others. The festival will run from October 27 to November 5 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai.
