‘Debi’, directed by Anam Biswas, will see producer Jaya Ahsan making her film debut. The Bangladeshi actress will play a pivotal character, Ranu in this film largely based on Humayun Ahmed’s popular novel of the same name.

Just before the border-tale of Kaushik Ganguly’s ‘Bishorjon’ starring joya ahsan could cast its charm in Bengal, Kolkata renewed its love for cinema across the border with a Bangladesh Film Festival.

Ahead of the film’s release, the makers of the film came up with a brilliant idea to organise a reunion of sorts and get the stars of the original Bengali film ‘Rajkahini’ to meet the cast of the film's Bollywood remake titled ‘Begum Jaan’.

Following the path of Bangladeshi actress Nusrat Faria Mazhar and joya ahsan, another actress from the neighbouring country, Bidya Sinha Saha Mim, is set to play an important role in superstar Jeet’s next big project ‘Sultan The Saviour’. Touted to be an action-packed thriller, the Jeet starrer also has Priyanka Sarkar in lead role.
