Tollywood roots for Team Bangladesh

When producer Himanshu Dhanuka was returning from London on Friday, he had in company the Pakistan cricket team on flight from Abu Dhabi. Dhanuka, of course, isn't the only one in Tollywood saying so. Even Prosenjit Chatterjee, who has acted in two India-Bangladesh co-productions, is backing Bangladesh.

KOLKATA: When producer Himanshu Dhanuka was returning from London on Friday, he had in company the Pakistan cricket team on flight from Abu Dhabi. But when it comes to Wednesday's match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, Dhanuka will be rooting for Bangladesh.
Dhanuka, of course, isn't the only one in Tollywood saying so. Even Prosenjit Chatterjee, who has acted in two India-Bangladesh co-productions, is backing Bangladesh.

"I am not someone who takes sides. Yet, I must say that the current Bangladesh team has a lot of potential. They are a bunch of promising young players. I am hoping that they will roar at Eden Gardens," Prosenjit said.
Bangladeshi actor Joya Ahsan, who has shot to fame in Tollywood with her performance in 'Aborto' and 'Rajkahini', is expectedly rooting for her homeland. Currently holidaying in Delhi, Ahsan is ready to fly down to Kolkata if someone offers her a match ticket. "I've noticed that Bengalis have a soft corner for Bangladesh. Even when there is a match between India and Bangladesh, I have seen some Bengalis supporting Bangladesh. There is that connection of a shared past and mother tongue that works wonders. I am certain that Kolkata will be supporting my motherland in this match," she said.
Meanwhile, actor Parno Mittra is off to Dhaka on Wednesday. She will soon begin shooting for 'No Bed of Roses' with Irrfan Khan. Said Parno, "Though I don't follow cricket all that much, I will support Bangladesh on Wednesday."
Ankush, who has shot in Bangladesh for 'Romeo & Juliet', pledges unconditional support for Bangladesh if the nation is playing against any country apart from India. "I support Bangladesh if they are not playing against India. But I won't be going for Wednesday's match," he said.
