Motorola is set to expand its portfolio with the launch of a premium smartphone series. The Lenovo-owned company has announced that the Signature class smartphone series will launch in India on January 7, 2026. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Motorola India, teasing the Signature series, wrote,
“If everything claims to be premium, what actually is? What does 'premium' mean to you? Comment below 👇 #Motorola #PremiumDeservesItsSignature” A Flipkart microsite for the phone has also gone live. The page reveals some design and camera details but does not share exact specifications. The microsite suggests the phone may feature a fabric-finished rear panel and a flat display with slim bezels. It also hints at advanced camera hardware, including a periscope telephoto lens, and flagship-grade performance.
The microsite shows that the phone’s right side will have the volume buttons and the power button. Another button is placed on the left side, which may be used to open the camera or set up as a shortcut for AI features or other tasks.
Motorola Signature series smartphone: What to expect
Previous leaks suggest that the Motorola Signature could be a rebranded version of the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra.
Images of the phone were leaked online by tipster Evan Blass, and the device was recently spotted on Geekbench.
The leaked benchmark showed the Motorola Signature running on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, with six cores clocked at 3.32 GHz and two cores at 3.89 GHz. It is expected to be paired with the Adreno 829 GPU.
According to the leak, Motorola Signature could run an Android 16-based UI, likely Motorola's own Hello UI, which is close to stock Android but now also includes ads and bloatware. The device is also expected to come with 16GB of RAM, which indicates its positioning in the premium segment.
The tipster also shared that the Motorola Signature could come in two colour variants: Carbon and Martini Olive. It is expected to feature a 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED display and a triple-camera setup on the back, with one of the cameras potentially a telephoto lens.
With the Motorola Signature being a new addition to the series, it is unclear which price segment the company will position the device in.
