Google has temporarily removed its new AI-enabled feature, Daily Hub, from the recently launched Pixel 10 phones. This move comes less than two weeks after the devices went on sale. The feature, which was in a "public preview," collected weather and calendar events and recommended online content. Google has now confirmed that the company is "actively working to enhance its performance and refine the personalised experience," a report claimed. The company plans to reintroduce “an improved Daily Hub when it’s ready.”

What Google said about removing this feature

In a statement to 9to5Google, a company spokesperson said: “To ensure the best possible experience on Pixel, we’re temporarily pausing the public preview of Daily Hub for users. Our teams are actively working to enhance its performance and refine the personalized experience. We look forward to reintroducing an improved Daily Hub when it’s ready.”

What is Pixel 10’s new Daily Hub feature and how it worked

On the Pixel 10, Daily Hub was introduced as a central space that combined your calendar, Magic Cue, and personalised suggestions. Daily Hub debuted on the Pixel 10 lineup with a preview badge above the greeting, similar to how Pixel Studio first appeared in 2024 before graduating with its 2.0 update last month.Since Daily Hub was only in public preview, it hadn’t rolled out to every Pixel 10. Some Pixel 10 Pro XL users claimed that they haven’t received it and couldn’t access the same. The feature also surfaced media recommendations powered by the same system behind Google Play Collections. Depending on the user’s activity and preferences, this could include music, podcasts, and YouTube content. While podcast suggestions worked reasonably well, results with YouTube Shorts were less consistent. As of today, Daily Hub no longer appears at the top of the Discover feed or in At a Glance on the homescreen and lockscreen, the report claims. The final carousel in Daily Hub highlighted topics that users may want to explore or plan around. Tapping one opened the Gemini app with a detailed prompt already filled in, though the usefulness of this feature varied.
