NEW DELHI: Less than 24 hours after the unexpected return of CM Punk at Survivor Series: WarGames,
WWE personality Kayla Braxton seemingly took a veiled shot at the two-time WWE Champion on social media.
In a thrilling WarGames match, Cody Rhodes,
Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn,
Jey Uso, and
Randy Orton emerged victorious against The Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre.
While there was much speculation about Punk's potential return at the event in his hometown of Chicago, it became a reality when Living Colour's "Cult of Personality" played, signaling Punk's first appearance in WWE since his departure in 2014.
While many fans welcomed Punk's return with excitement, there have been reports suggesting that some current WWE talent may not be pleased with his comeback. Kayla Braxton seemed to hint at this sentiment as she posted a tweet on social media.
"I guess the grass is greener over here, huh?" Braxton wrote.
Braxton's remark appears to reference a promo delivered by Punk during his feud with MJF in AEW last year. During that promo, Punk took shots at WWE, including a reference to their WrestleMania 38 Buy 3, Get 1 special promo.
With Punk's return to WWE, Braxton's comment implies that the grass may indeed be greener in the Stamford-based company.
In the post-Survivor Series press conference, WWE's Chief Content Officer, Triple H, discussed Punk's return, emphasizing that people grow and change over time. He acknowledged that both he and Punk are different individuals now, and WWE is a different company as well. Triple H expressed that everyone is on the same even starting ground.
PW Insider reports that CM Punk is scheduled to appear on RAW this Monday in Nashville, Tennessee, marking his first promo in WWE since 2014.
