WWE brought back their all-women’s PLE, Evolution 2, after nearly seven years. The announcement of Evolution brought excitement and the thrill to witness all the talented women get their deserved spot. However, things did not esc as the buildup to this show was quite underwhelming. In a recent interview with NotSam Wrestling, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus addressed the hurried preparation for Evolution 2, noting the challenges of putting together a cohesive card under tight constraints.Trish Stratus criticizes the build for Evolution 2“This entire card has seemed to be a quick turnaround, as it is unfortunately, and I get it, there’s like 7,000 events a month, it seems like,” Stratus remarked, acknowledging the demanding schedule WWE navigates. She added, "Do I wish there was a bigger build? Do I wish we had a longer segment? Do I wish we didn’t have a very boring segment last week on SmackDown? Sure,” she laughed. “But, it is what it is.” Stratus emphasized her focus on delivering in the ring, stating, “You get your time, you do your thing, and sometimes things get thrown together. It is what it is, right?"WWE’s focus diverted to other major events, including their return to Saudi Arabia. This has resulted in a rushed approach to crafting the match card, with main roster matches only being revealed a couple of weeks before the event. The lack of time devoted to developing compelling rivalries has left some storylines feeling underdeveloped, diminishing the momentum heading into the PLE.

Despite the rushed buildup, she is set to face Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton for the title at Evolution 2, scheduled for Sunday, July 13, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Fortunately, their matchup benefits from a pre-existing storyline, as WWE had previously teased a rivalry between the two. Their similar career trajectories and parallel aesthetics provide a natural foundation for their feud, making it one of the less hurried narratives on the card.
Stratus and Stratton are determined to make their match a standout moment at Evolution 2, relying on their in-ring chemistry and storytelling to elevate the event. With the women’s division eager to showcase their talent, the PLE promises to be a pivotal moment for WWE’s female superstars, even if the road to the event has been rocky. Also read:Trish Stratus’ greatest hits: 4 WWE moments that made her a legend
