All Elite Wrestling founder and co-owner Tony Khan has recently dropped some major allegations against the PR team of WWE. In an interview with Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston, he stated that they have leaked false details about AEW’s ongoing media rights deal with Warner Bros Discovery.
The negotiations are on the way between AEW and WBD, which was first made public on July 23rd by SEScoops.
The final handshake between the two parties will lead to AEW’s content arriving on the MAX streaming platform, which will also include its pay-per-views (PPV). Speaking with Thurston ahead of ROH Death Before Dishonor, Khan spoke about the ongoing deal and went on to drop the scathing attack on WWE’s PR team accusing them of spreading false stories.
Tony Khan hopes AEW and WBD deal goes well
Here are some snippets of what Khan stated,
“I don’t usually do this, but since Brandon brought it up and asked. I had a major member of the wrestling media mention to me yesterday, WWE is telling people that, and I don’t know why WWE is telling people about our media rights deal. I don’t know whether it’s any of their business.”“I don’t really understand why WWE PR calls people and talks about my business. WWE PR is telling people that the deal is done and that the deal is done at the same level that it was going to be our previous deal. That’s not the case. I don’t know why WWE PR and why major wrestling media members, who are very credible and never lied to me, I don’t know why they are telling people that.”After expressing his disapproval of the PR team’s false claims, Khan goes on to reiterate his hope for a great deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery, stating that it will be even bigger than before.
