NEW DELHI: It has been revealed that former WWE tag team powerhouse Authors of Pain (AOP), comprising Akam and Rezar, were secretly signed by the company in 2022, and a return to television is reportedly on the horizon. The duo, known for their dominant presence in the tag team division, might also be reuniting with their original manager, Paul Ellering, who played a pivotal role in their initial success. According to insider reports behind Fightful's paywall, the working plan is for Akam and Rezar to make their comeback on the SmackDown brand. While plans in the dynamic world of professional wrestling are subject to change, the current trajectory indicates that the Authors of Pain could soon grace WWE television screens once again.
This revelation follows earlier reports in January 2023 about WWE's interest in bringing back the formidable tag team. However, the latest update discloses that Akam and Rezar have been under WWE contract for nearly a year and a half, with their presence at the WWE Performance Center confirmed as of August 2022.The anticipation surrounding the return of AOP has fueled speculation about the impact they could make upon rejoining the WWE roster. As former tag team champions, their potential comeback is expected to generate significant buzz, but fans will have to await an official announcement regarding their on-screen return.
