Paes-Stepanek in last-eight at Shanghai Masters

SHANGHAI: Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek overcame a stiff challenge from Kevin Anderson and Sam Querry to progress to the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters, on Thursday.
The fourth seeded Indo-Czech pair defeated the unseeded South African- American combination 6-4, 6-4 in little over one-hour second round contest.
They will next play Austria's Jurgen Melzer and Canadian Milos Raonic.
Paes and Stepanek did not face single break point in the match and broke their rivals one time each in the two sets.
