The player, who competes in his third season of a $3.25 million contract, which he signed for three years, will become an unrestricted free agent this upcoming summer. He has achieved three goals and eight points throughout 46 matches this season while delivering consistent defensive performance from his position as left defender. Soucy joined the team after the Vancouver Canucks traded him during the 2025 trade deadline because they wanted him to help their playoff push, but that attempt failed.
The Islanders, who hold third place in the Metropolitan Division, show an obvious need for this player. First-year general manager Mathieu Darche has needed to find blue line defenders who can provide both consistency and performance since Alexander Romanov required shoulder surgery, which he received in November.
