Nathan MacKinnon, the Colorado Avalanche star, recently made the headlines after scoring one of the biggest playoff goals that he has scored to date. In a match between the Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars, the scoreboard stands at 7-4 with the odds in favour of the Avalanche. Pictures of Nathan MacKinnon and Artturi Lehkonen hugging each other to celebrate MacKinnon's goal surfaced on the internet after the match between the Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars. The former scored a go-ahead goal, thus beating the Dallas Stars 7-4 in Game 6 for the Stanley Cup. The match was intense between both teams, however, MacKinnon scored a 'fluke' shot that turned the tide in favour of the Avalanche. Speaking about his shot post the match, he shared, “Super lucky. Hopefully we get more of those Saturday.” Fans were in disbelief when Nathan threw the puck towards the net, but it hit Sam Steel's stick, and deflected against Colin Blackwell's shoulder, and went past Oettinger right into the net. While the shot was by accident, it did not stop MacKinnon from celebrating the fact that luck had favoured him. Commenting on the same post, the match, Jake Oettinger from the Dallas Stars shared, "I think they've got better bounces than us".
The video of Nathan scoring the goal quickly became viral on the internet. Sharing a clip of the video, a fan wrote, “NATHAN MACKINNON GETS CREDIT FOR THE MOST ABSURD GOAL OF THE PLAYOFFS! The award is presented annually to the most outstanding player in the NHL. This comes after the 29-year-old scored a total of 116 points this season.
