The Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues delivered a playoff classic. Also game 7 was tense, physical, and unpredictable. The Jets trailed 3-1 late in the third period. That too their season hung in the balance. Then, chaos unfolded.
Vladislav Namestnikov cut the deficit to one with under two minutes left, the crowd erupted. Momentum shifted. With the net empty, Cole Perfetti tied the game with just three seconds remaining. Overtime was inevitable.

Fatigue set in. Both teams pushed through exhaustion. The Jets played most of the game. That too with only five defensemen after Josh Morrissey exited early, also Neal Pionk logged a staggering 46 minutes of ice time. Dylan Samberg played 44. The defense held firm.
Adam Lowry became the hero. His deflection off a Pionk shot ended the marathon. The Jets celebrated. The Blues collapsed in disbelief. Lowry, a St. Louis native, had dreamed of this moment.
Hellebuyck’s Redemption

Connor Hellebuyck struggled earlier in the series. He was pulled in all three road games. But in Game 7, he stood tall. After Radek Faksa’s second-period goal, Hellebuyck made 13 straight saves.
His composure kept the Jets alive.
Jordan Binnington was brilliant for the Blues. He made 34 saves. But the late collapse overshadowed his effort. The Jets’ relentless pressure proved too much.

The Jets had not advanced past the first round since 2021. Past failures weighed on them. This win exorcised some demons. Coach Scott Arniel praised the team’s resilience. The players refused to quit.
Next up, the Dallas Stars. The Jets will need the same determination. If Game 7 was any indication, they are ready for the challenge. The playoffs are about moments. The Jets just created one they will never forget.
