Bryce Young's Carolina Panthers season has been a disaster, with two poor performances in his rookie year and two poor performances in his second season. Head coach Dave Canales benched Young in favor of veteran Andy Dalton, who will start in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Young's poor performance has led to a toxic situation, with the 'bust' label already circulating.Ryan Leaf blames the Carolina Panthers for Bryce Young's current struggles, stating that they intended to bench him in favor of Andy Dalton. The Panthers, who gave up DJ Moore and two second-round picks to the Bears in 2023 for the right to draft Young, have yet to give up on him, leaving them in one of the worst positions of any NFL franchise.

Ryan Leaf on Bryce Young’s benching

Former NFL player Ryan Leaf solely believes the Panthers are responsible for Bryce Young's poor performances, highlighting the importance of team support in overcoming challenges. “They screwed this thing up from the get-go, though. I mean, this organization is horrible,” Leaf told TMZ. “This organization has done nothing to try to help and develop a player that has so much expectation on him. And so, I laid this at the feet of the organization completely.

This situation is similar to the one experienced by former NFL quarterback, John Leaf, who was released from the San Diego Chargers after only three seasons. Leaf recalled the feeling of not having support from the franchise or his teammates, which he believes is what Young is going through right now.“He has zero confidence right now,” Leaf added. “No one believes in him and no one has his back. And I know what that feels like. You don’t want to go into the office. You don’t want to be around anybody. Football seems so toxic to you because you’ve always had that. You’ve always had success. And you’ve always been the guy that everybody loved to lift up and follow and everything like that. And right now, there’s no one in that locker room that seemingly feels that way. And that is a hard place to be as a leader of men when you’re 22, 23 years old.”Also Read: Philadelphia Eagles' A.J. Brown will be missing a couple of weeks
