SB Nation’s Barry Shuck reports that Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry could bring in Rasheed Walker and make their current left tackle, Dawand Jones, the swing tackle. A swing tackle is a versatile backup OL who can play both left and right tackle positions. Why? Because Jones has been to the Injured Reserve three times in three seasons. Shuck says he is not, and will not, stay healthy. That’s where Walker comes in. He could be at left tackle, while the newly traded Tytus Howard [from the Houston Texans] could be at right tackle.

Packers LT Rasheed Walker projected for Todd Monken's Browns

The Athletic’s Daniel Popper reports that Walker has an athletic build with good agility. He is a powerful player when he gets his momentum moving forward. He made 48 starts in the past three seasons and is currently the best tackle in this year’s free agency.Despite being the best, the free agent market dried up too fast, even before he could have a chance. NFL Insider Adam Schefter revealed there were not many teams looking for the left tackle position in the free agency, except for a few like Cleveland, Detroit [Lions], and others.Schefter predicts that Walker may sign a one-year contract now.
This one-year contract may put him in a good situation this season, and then he can re-enter the free agency next season. Now this was a one-sided scenario. Another side was depicted by SB Nation’s Barry Shuck. The analyst shared that the LT might have been reflecting on the offers he has received, or that his agent was in negotiations. He is available not because there aren’t any offers, but because he can’t decide which team to sign with.Maybe a familiar face from Green Bay could help him decide. Todd Monken’s Browns recently signed center Elgton Jenkins, who belonged to Green Bay. So, if Cleveland signs the left tackle, he may find a familiar face from a previous franchise there.

Rasheed Walker compared to Trent Williams and Dan Moore

Acme Packing Company’s Justis Mosqueda reports that offers are on the table for Walker, but teams are waiting to see what happens with the San Francisco 49ers’ left tackle, Trent Williams. Walker’s contract is expected to surpass Tennessee Titans left tackle Dan Moore’s annual income of $20.5M. But Mosqueda reports teams are not willing to commit to a third or fourth year on such a hefty deal. Walker is projected to sign a two-year contract worth around $42M.According to Spotrac’s calculated market value, Green Bay Packers left tackle Rasheed Walker is projected to sign a four-year contract worth $81M, which gives him an average annual income of $20.3M.Mosqueda calls Cleveland the favorite for Walker because Cam Robinson is a free agent and they need a left tackle. ESPN’s Matt Bowen reports that technical lapses have prevented Robinson from playing at a consistent rate. While the Chiefs may trade for Trent Williams. CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reports Kansas City eagerly wants to work a deal with the Niners for Williams. The Sporting News’ Mike Moraitis reports that the Niners are in no rush to decide on Williams. So, this may further delay Walker’s signing. Anyhow, Mosqueda reports multiple teams are involved for both the players. This leaves us with: how would Walker fit into Cleveland? Cleveland coach Todd Monken is looking for young talent to fit into his offensive-minded system. Walker is 26 years old. His pass block win rate is 93.8%. He ranks 11th among 68 qualifying OTs. He has the footwork and mobility to match the speed of edge rushers. So, will Monken choose him? Remains to be seen...
