Okay, so everybody knows Charles Barkley and the Inside the NBA crew stay undefeated when it comes to roasting people. But nobody, and we mean NOBODY, expected them to come for Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini on Sunday night. Yet here we are.

During their iconic "Gone Fishing" segment, the one where they clown teams that got knocked out of the playoffs, a graphic popped up on screen featuring the Boston Celtics, Bill Simmons, a bunch of Boston-famous celebrities... and then Vrabel and Russini. Together. At the front of a boat. Recreating the Titanic pose.

For anyone who missed the drama, let's catch you up real quick.

Last month, the New York Post dropped photos of Vrabel, the Patriots head coach, and Russini, who was a senior NFL reporter at The Athletic, holding hands and hugging at a luxury resort in Sedona, Arizona. The kicker? They're both married. To other people.



Both of them came out and said it wasn't what it looked like, that they were just there with a group of friends. Except eyewitnesses said that wasn't really the vibe they were getting. Russini ended up resigning from The Athletic shortly after, while an internal investigation was reportedly launched into her relationship with Vrabel and whether she'd been honest with her employer.

Just when you thought the story was dying down, Page Six said hold on and dropped photos of Vrabel and Russini kissing at a New York City bar. From 2020. Six years before Arizona. And yes, he was wearing his wedding ring.

Vrabel had originally called suggestions of any romance "laughable." He went quiet real fast after that one.

He then announced he was skipping Day 3 of the NFL Draft to go to counseling and focus on his family. The Patriots came out and said they "fully support" his decision. So his job appears safe, for now.

Vrabel is still the Patriots head coach. Russini is out of a job. And the Inside the NBA crew just made sure the whole country is still talking about it.

Boston sports are struggling across the board right now, and their coach is in the middle of a full blown scandal. The Titanic recreation honestly felt a little too on the nose because this situation is absolutely sinking.
