Brown is a member of the Eagles, as Howie mentioned yesterday. We haven’t had any conversations about anything regarding that in a long time,” Wolf said on the “Up & Adams Show.”


That one line changed the direction of the conversation. Until then, the idea of a trade felt alive. After that, it felt distant.
The Philadelphia Eagles have also stayed consistent. Also, GM Howie Roseman spoke to reporters and kept the focus on Brown being part of the team. Around the same time, insider Adam Schefter reported that the Eagles are not in any rush to move their star receiver.

Still, the chatter did not appear out of thin air. Brown’s own words earlier in the 2025 season added fuel. During a Twitch stream, he called the offense a “sh*t show” and hinted at frustration over limited targets. That moment stuck, keeping the speculation alive.

From a roster standpoint, the Patriots remain an easy match on paper. They need a true No. 1 option. Brown has cleared 1,000 yards in six of his seven NFL seasons. He brings size, consistency, and big-play ability. But reality steps in quickly. A deal before June 1 would cost Philadelphia roughly $43 million in dead cap. Waiting until after that date makes things easier, but even then, it is not simple.

There is also a personal connection that added another layer. Head coach Mike Vrabel coached Brown during their time with the Tennessee Titans. That history keeps fans wondering.
