Wadkar, Ahlawat slam tons against Assam

NAGPUR: Vidarbha sent Assam bowlers on a leather hunt on the second day of the Col CK Nayudu U-23 Trophy match at the VCA Jamtha ground on Tuesday.
Two Vidarbha batsmen hammered centuries and one missed narrowly as the hosts added whopping 392 runs in a day to further strengthen their position in the match by ending the Day 2 at 499 for 5.
Akshay Wadkar smashed 168 (216 b, 22x4) to provide a sensational start to the day.Wadkar got good support from skipper Dharmendra Ahlawat, who struck 115 (215 b, 10x4, 1x6). The duo of Wadkar and Ahlawat added 202 runs for the fourth wicket.
Sachin Kataria, who was batting on 52 on Monday evening, was unlucky to complete his century as the opener fell on his personal score of 89 (154 b, 14x4, 1x6).
With a lead of 359 runs, Vidarbha can now go all out for an outright victory in the rest of two days.
