The joy of staging a comeback into the Indian cricketteam turned into grief for Virender Sehwag whose father passed away following amassive heart attack on Tuesday.
Sehwag's father, Kishan, died at2.30 pm at his Najafgarh residence. He was 70.
Sehwag and hisbrothers were at his bedside when the end came.
The Delhi opener,who staged a comeback in the national team for the first two One-dayers againstPakistan in place of former captain Rahul Dravid, did not attend thefelicitation programmes for the World Cup winning Twenty20 cricket team at theresidences of President, Prime Minister and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi duringthe day.
Many of Sehwag's Ranji Trophy team-mates and his closefriends attended the cremation.
The Delhi and District CricketAssociation (DDCA) Secretary SP Bansal and Sports Secretary Sunil Dev havecondoled the death.
