HYDERABAD: A group of women cricketers on Tuesday approached state Home Minister P Sabita Reddy, seeking action against sacked Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) general secretary V Chamundeshwaranath for alleged misbehaviour.
"He sent me objectionable SMSes and made phone calls at odd hours," Durga Bhavani, a cricketer, told reporters after meeting Reddy with the complaint.
Reddy, on her part, said she would forward the complaint to the DGP and order an inquiry into the matter by a special officer.
Chamundeshwaranath, who was the manager of the Indian team in the Twenty20 World Cup, has already been sacked by ACA on charges of corruption and favouritism.
Chamundeshwaranath, however, refuted the allegations and said it was an attempt by some ACA officials to malign him.
"These allegations are meaningless. Why should I send such SMSes? ACA people are behind this," he said.
The ACA had relieved Chamundeshwaranath on June 18 from the general secretary's post on charges of corruption and favouritism during team selection, a charge he denied.
