Ankit Chavan five-for helps Air India soar

MUMBAI: A five-wicket haul by left arm spinner Ankit Chavan helped Air India restrict the newly-promoted Jain Irrigation to 214 on the opening day of Times Shield 'A' Division second round at the MIG ground, on Tuesday. For Jain Irrigation, Amit Patil top-scored with 83 (123b, 1x6, 12x4). At the close of play, Air India were 91 for no loss.
At Nerul, Nikhil Mandle slammed an unbeaten 88 (2x69x4) to help DY Patil 'B' finish the day at 332 for 8 against Tata Sports Club.Yogesh Pawar (48), Nilkanth Parab (40) and Survesh Damle (49) were the other run-getters for them. For TSC, veteran off-spinner Ramesh Powar and left-arm spinner Vishal Dabholkar captured three wickets each. At Western Railway ground in Mahalaxmi, DY Patil 'A' were bowled out for 215 against Western Railway 'B.'
