Delhi Police files FIR over fireworks outside CM Arvind Kejriwal's residence
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has registered an FIR concerning the bursting of firecrackers outside chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence in Civil Lines. The incident occurred on Friday after Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail. The Delhi government announced a ban on the production, sale, and use of firecrackers in the city to control air pollution during the winter season on Monday. Police officials have booked unknown persons under Section 223 (disobedience to orders promulgated by a public servant) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Civil Lines Police Station. An official stated, "A case under section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered against unknown persons."Kejriwal was granted bail by the Supreme Court on Friday in a corruption case involving the Delhi excise policy filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
