While talking about the Lakers, Brian Shaw revealed how Shaquille O’Neal’s indecisive approach towards his health went on to cost the club their 4th NBA championship. Shaw said,
“Yeah. I mean, really, there’s no telling.”

Brian Shaw further added,
“So, at the end of our run, we had won three in a row. We’re trying to win the fourth, and that year Shaq was on this thing about getting paid. Yeah. So, he didn’t have surgery on his toe.
So he missed, I don’t know, maybe the first 30 games or whatever of the season because he didn’t do the surgery right after the season ended.”
Reportedly, Shaquille O’Neal’s indecision with respect to his surgery continued for a long time. He went for surgery and took a break from the NBA season for recovery. According to the confession made by Brian Shaw, if O’Neal had gone for the surgery previously, the Los Angeles Lakers would have had a fair chance of winning against the San Antonio Spurs. Even after joining the Lakers, the purple and gold franchise failed to make a mark in the NBA championship. However, the popular basketball veteran has a history of injuries, but even amidst all this, Shaquille O’Neal’s 19-year career stands tall in the history of the NBA.
