"Forever love"- NBA legend Magic Johnson pens emotional note for wife on 34th anniversary

NBA legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson recently went viral after penning a lovely anniversary post dedicating his wife. To mark the special occasion, he posted multiple photos on Instagram. Additionally, he also wrote a beautiful caption that went viral. The NBA icon apparently has known all along that he wanted to be with his wife, Cookie. He married her in a private ceremony on September 14, 1991. Now, the happy couple is celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary.NBA legend Magic Johnson recently celebrated his 34th wedding anniversary with his wife. To celebrate the special occasion, he wrote a sweet message on Instagram. The message read: “To my forever love on our anniversary… Here we are in year 34 of our marriage and we still love to have fun, laugh, travel, and we have had an amazing journey through life together. When I look into your eyes, I am reminded of all of our moments spent around the world creating countless memories that we share…”He went on to express his feelings after being with his partner for so long. The message continued:"I am as in love with you today as I was on the day we shared our vows. Colossians 3:14 highlights love as the supreme virtue that unites compassion, kindness, humility and patience into a harmonious fulfilling Christian life and you embody each and every one of these words. Your compassion is unmatched and you love me unconditionally each and every day. Your kindness makes everyone gravitate towards your tender heart and smile…”It concluded:“Your humility keeps us grounded in our faith and focused on our covenants. Your patience and diligence with me has kept us strong for over 40 years today and all I can say is wow honey, look at us now. May we continue to keep God first in our life and in our marriage as well as live, love and grow together forever. Happy Anniversary!"The anniversary post also contained a video montage of themselves over the years to mark the occasion. The NBA legend first saw his future wife, Earleatha Kelly, aka Cookie, more than 40 years ago. When he first saw her at a party in the 1970s, he was captivated. The two clicked right away after he asked for her number. They later got married in a secret ceremony. In 2016, he recalled to PEOPLE:"I never asked her to dance… I just watched her dance, and I said, 'I've got to get to know that woman." The couple got married on September 14, 1991, in Magic's hometown in Michigan, despite some ups and downs. Reflecting on early struggles, he said during the same interview: "It was difficult. We cried for a couple of days just holding each other.. [Cookie] thought it was a death sentence because that's all we knew."He has talked about her a lot during his interviews. He also discussed "the beautiful situation" of meeting Cookie through a common friend when he appeared on the Jennifer Hudson Show in September 2022. He said:"A friend of ours knew her, and she knew me, but we didn't know each other.. So we were coming to a party, it was a party, and she came walking in with the tightest jeans I've ever seen, and caught a brother's eye.”Now, as the couple celebrates more than 3 decades of togetherness, they are extremely happy.
