NEW DELHI: The Boston Celtics extended their winning streak to six games with a 102-100 victory over the depleted Memphis Grizzlies. Kristaps Porzingis led the Celtics with 26 points, eight rebounds, and six blocked shots, including a crucial dunk to break a 100-100 tie with just over a minute left in the game.
Santi Aldama had an opportunity to give the Grizzlies the lead, but his three-point attempt in the final seconds missed the mark.
Zaire Williams grabbed the rebound but was blocked by Porzingis at the buzzer.
Jayson Tatum contributed 20 points, nine rebounds, and five assists for the Celtics, while Sam Hauser came off the bench to make 5 of 7 three-point attempts, finishing with 15 points. Despite missing several key players due to injuries, the Grizzlies were competitive, receiving a game-high 30 points from Desmond Bane and an impressive performance from Aldama, who recorded 28 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and two steals.
The Celtics now boast a 15-1 record in their last 16 games against the Grizzlies. Despite a depleted roster, Memphis held a 100-98 lead late in the fourth quarter before Boston rallied to secure the win. The loss dropped the Grizzlies to 0-6 at home.
