We decided to buy mattresses. I bought 80 mattresses from my village Kharkhoda by paying Rs 50,000. We were being charged 12000 a day for all the mattresses. That's a huge sum. Initially, we had taken speakers and microphones on rent, but the one-day cost was Rs 12,000. It was too much. Now we have bought our own sound system from Chandni Chowk market for Rs 60,000. The shopkeeper was nice. He knew that athletes are on the road so he gave us the system on a not-for-profit basis.

"We didn't get justice earlier. We were fighting for justice earlier and we are fighting for justice now. We will continue to do so until the accused is punished. So we will continue to protest here. The girls have blamed him for sexual harassment, so an FIR should be registered and he should get punished according to the acts. As you can see, nobody came to us, we didn't receive a phone call, nobody has told us that we will get justice." -

The IOA's investigation into the sexual harassment issue is still going on. The seven-member committee probing the matter has got a list of witnesses. These witnesses will be invited to face the committee. Based on that, the report will be submitted to us in due course.

We believe that sports should not be affected, sportspersons should not be affected and day-to-day functioning of a federation should continue. What wrestlers have done is not good for the country. It's not good for the image of the country. Our honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been doing so much for sports and then you have these wrestlers sitting on the streets and protesting. This sets a bad precedent.

Kalyan Chaubey - IOA's joint secretary and acting CEO

16:52 (IST) Apr 27

This amounts to gross indiscipline and tarnishing the image of the country. It sets a bad precedent. Instead of hitting the streets, the wrestlers should have come to the IOA's Athletes Commission. The commission is headed by M C Mary Kom as chairperson and Achanta Sharath Kamal as vice chairperson.
