ISSF Junior world cup: Vijayveer Sidhu wins team, individual gold in 25m pistol

Close on the heels of twin brothers of Mansa Udayveer and Vijayveer Sidhu winning team medal at ISSF Junior world cup, now younger Vijayveer has won individual gold in 25 metre standard pistol event.

MANSA: Close on the heels of twin brothers of Mansa Udayveer and Vijayveer Sidhu winning team medal at ISSF Junior world cup, now younger Vijayveer has won individual gold in 25 metre standard pistol event.
He has also team the team gold medal in the same event along with Rajkanwar and Anish. Vijayveer shot score of 576 in winning gold. Rajkanwar Sandhu won the individual bronze by scoring 566.

In the team event the trio collectively shot score of 1706 with Vijayveer scoring 586, Rajkanwar scoring 566 and Anish scoring 564. The world cup is going on at Suhl town in Germany.
Earlier on Tuesday Udayveer, Vijayveer and Rajkanwar had won team gold in 25 team pistol event and Udayveer had won individual bronze in same event.
Both originally belong to Mansa and had shifted base to Chandigarh in 2015. They had started shooting in 2010 at Mansa. The twin brothers put the trauma of losing their father Gurpreet Singh Sidhu, them working as assistant district education officer at Mansa, in August 2017.
Teacher mother Rano Kaur and maternal uncle Sukhdarshan Natt elated over the achievement of the younger Vijayveer said that "it is moment of pride for the family that both the brothers have won 5 medals among them. Both have won 2 team gold medals, one team bronze, one individual gold and one individual bronze in different events. Rano Kaur said their father was very concerned about the practice of both the brothers and had he alive today he would have been the happiest person".
