Reagan Bregman never aimed for fame, but her narrative effortlessly attracts attention. Having been raised in different countries and cultures, she learned early how to keep her feet on the ground while everything around her was in flux. This mindset transitioned into her adult years, where ambition met unpredictability and love arrived when she least expected it.
A single dinner evolved into something more significant, but the journey ahead was anything but easy. Factors like distance, demanding jobs, and crucial life choices brought patience and trust to the forefront. When plans changed and expectations were rewritten, Reagan concentrated on what was truly important. The result was a life defined by purpose rather than perfection. From her personal growth to creating a family, her story gives a deeper understanding of the moments that shaped her long before the world began to notice.
Reagan Bregman early life and background
Reagan Bregman was born on Aug. 26, 1994, in Louisiana. In an interview with Houston CityBook, she explained that her father worked in the oil and gas industry managing offshore drilling rigs, which meant the family moved frequently during her childhood.
Her family lived in Trinidad and Tobago, Spain, and Canada before eventually settling in Katy, Texas, just west of Houston.
Reagan graduated from Texas A&M University in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. While at A&M, she served as president of the Panama Global Business Brigades, leading a student group to Panama to volunteer with local small businesses.
How Reagan met Alex Bregman
Reagan met Alex through mutual friends after college. While working for Google in Austin, she drove to Houston for a weekend to see friends. One of her friends was dating one of Alex’s friends, and the two met at a group dinner.
Speaking to The Knot, Reagan recalled,“It was crazy because I didn’t want to be [at dinner]. And then we went on a date, three or four days later.”
The couple began dating, but long‑distance became difficult once baseball season started. Reagan told The Knot, “When we both realized we were willing to sacrifice things to make things work, we realized it was it.”
Alex added to the outlet, “She was driving back and forth every weekend, three hours there and back, waking up at 5 am to get to work. She was working her tail off and coming to see me.”
Reagan eventually moved back to Houston, and the couple got engaged during a trip to Aspen, Colorado, in January 2020. Alex shared a photo of the proposal on Instagram with the caption, “Love you forever baby.”
A pandemic wedding in December 2020
The couple originally planned a large wedding at a San Antonio resort in December 2020. However, rising COVID‑19 cases forced them to cancel. Instead, they married in an intimate ceremony at Reagan’s parents’ home in Katy on Dec. 5, 2020.
Reagan told The Knot,“It made us truly appreciate our family and made us look into the true meaning of a wedding… Sometimes it becomes all about the decor and party, but with COVID, we had to limit it and be extremely careful. We were able to focus on what it's really about, which was getting married.”
Alex described seeing Reagan walk down the aisle, telling the outlet, “I was very smiley and very happy… I almost teared up because I saw Reagan’s mom tearing up… I was close. But I was just so happy… maybe more nervous.”
Reagan Bregman’s motherhood and family life
On Valentine’s Day 2022, the Bregmans announced they were expecting their first child. Their son, Knox Samuel, was born on Aug. 1, 2022.
Reagan shared the news on Instagram, writing, “On 08.01.22 at 7:08pm our world changed forever.”
Alex missed a game to be at the hospital and later told reporters that Knox’s birth was, “Unbelievable… One of the best days of my life and my wife’s life, mama’s healthy, baby’s healthy, and we’re very excited.”
Knox attended his first Astros game at just seven weeks old. He was also on the field with his parents when the Astros won the 2022 World Series, as shown in photos Reagan posted on Instagram.
Before they married, Alex told Houston CityBook that he wanted a big family, “Cheaper by the dozen! I wanna play zone defense!” Reagan responded in the same interview, “Not as many, maybe three or four.”
The couple also has a Golden Retriever named Hank. In May 2023, Alex posted a Mother’s Day tribute on Instagram, “Happy Mothers Day to the most incredible wife and mother in the world… Knox and I love you so much.”
