The New York Yankees had a solid performance on Opening Day, with fans and players enjoying their time on and off the field. As Donald sat next to Okereke during the Opening Day match, Okereke waved and shook hands with his fans.
Okereke showed off the classic Yankees monochromatic jersey with his surname “Okereke.
In the comment section, fans were glad to see their favourite sports stars supporting teams across the country. While some commented on the photo with heart emojis, others also commented on the photo with the goat emoji, commonly referred to as ‘GOAT,’ or ‘Greatest Of All Time.’
New York Yankees powered through with newer faces on the Opening Day
For the fourth time in a row, the New York Yankees won the season opener with team captain Aaron Judge hitting a double and securing a run. Carlos Rodon too, played well.
Fans cheered loudly for Carlos Rodon after he left the game during the sixth inning. Before he left, Rodon struggled with Rhys Hoskins.
Interestingly, the Yankees’ ace pitcher Devin Williams was playing against his former team, the Milwaukee Brewers.
While Devin Williams struggled with a rough start in the game, he was able to regain control.
Even as the New York Yankees’ popular face Juan Soto decided to make his debut with the New York Mets in Houston, the team powered through with Austin Wells and Anthony Volpe making solo home runs for a power-packed performance.
