Mookie Betts has been passionate about making it big in the MLB since his childhood. However, before his MLB debut, Betts was also made to work at the "finish line" by his father in order to get his grades straight in high school. Recently, the Los Angeles Dodgers star recalled his memory from working at the finish line.
On Tuesday, MLB commentator Chris Rose interviewed Mookie Betts and asked him a series of questions. One of the questions that Rose asked Betts was about his first job. Betts claimed that it was his father who made him start working at an early age, even though that was the last thing he wanted to do. Talking about the same, he said:"It was at Finish Line. I worked for two weeks. I hated it. My dad told me, 'As long as you keep the grades up, you don't have to work anymore.' I think he just did it to prove a point. I got one paycheck—then taxes came and got it. I had zero clue about money management, so it was gone."

Mookie Betts shared latest update on health

Mookie Betts was ruled out of the LA Dodgers' Tokyo Series starting from the Opening Day game due to his battles with sickness. For the last two weeks, Betts has been sick and hasn't been feeling great enough to get back on the field to strengthen the team lineup. However, Betts recently shared some good news about his health. On Sunday, Betts had a brief interaction with media representatives in Los Angeles. During one of his interactions, Betts shared a brief health update and said:"I mean, I feel great. Like, my body feels great. I've been able to work out.
I've been able to do pretty much everything but eat, which is strange. So the symptoms have kind of gone away, I just have to figure out how to get my stomach to kind of calm down."Moving forward in his statement, Betts also claimed that it has been hard for him to "fathom not eating" and get on the field to play. Thus, he has started to adjust his diet accordingly so that he doesn't feel lethargic during the game. Concluding his statement, Betts said:"It's just hard to fathom not eating and going to play a game. So it looks like I'm just going to be light for a little bit. Maybe I play uphill a little bit at the beginning of the season. But no, I just want to play, man. I'm tired of sitting, tired of throwing up, tired of doing all this. I really just want to play."Even though the Los Angeles Dodgers won the Tokyo Series, fans definitely missed Mookie Betts and have been anticipatingly waiting for him to join the team. Do you think Betts will be able to maintain his performance coming back from a long break?
