Sean Strickland may have regained the UFC middleweight title at UFC 328, but the American star is now facing a difficult recovery period after suffering multiple injuries during his brutal fight against Khamzat Chimaev in Newark. Despite the physical damage, Strickland recently surprised fans by posting footage of himself training again on social media.The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board handed out several medical suspensions following UFC 328, and Strickland was among the biggest names placed on the list. He received an indefinite suspension until doctors clear his injured left hand. Soon after the event, Strickland also revealed that he suffered serious shoulder problems, including an AC joint separation, a SLAP tear, and rotator cuff damage. Even with those setbacks, the champion appears determined to stay mentally and physically active during recovery.

Only days after winning back the UFC middleweight championship, Sean Strickland posted a short clip from a training session on social media. The video immediately gained attention because it came shortly after the fighter openly discussed the serious injuries he suffered around UFC 328.
Alongside the training footage, Strickland shared how intense workouts continue to help him mentally.
He said that difficult training sessions bring him peace and clarity, even while dealing with pain and recovery from recent injuries.The former champion had earlier admitted that the five-round war against Khamzat Chimaev badly affected his body. According to Strickland, the physical damage became obvious immediately after the fight ended. Later, he explained that some of the shoulder issues had already started during fight week while sparring with fellow fighter Johnny Eblen at Plinio Cruz’s gym.Meanwhile, lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan recently revealed on JAXXON podcast that Chimaev is now fully focused on securing a rematch with Strickland instead of moving up to the light heavyweight division. Tsarukyan explained that Chimaev remains highly motivated after losing the title and wants another chance to reclaim the belt.However, Strickland does not believe Chimaev deserves an immediate rematch. Speaking recently, the middleweight champion explained that title challengers should earn opportunities through strong performances and consistent victories. He added that rankings still matter and deserving contenders should not be ignored.For now, Strickland’s latest training video has shown fans that even with severe injuries, the UFC middleweight champion is already pushing himself to return stronger.
