Joe Rogan calls it heartless as Donald Trump comments on Rob Reiner’s death spark loud backlash nationwide
President Donald Trump is facing strong backlash after making a social media post about the death of filmmaker Rob Reiner. Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found stabbed to death in their Los Angeles home on December 14. Police later arrested their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, who has been charged with two counts of murder. Instead of sharing sympathy, Trump posted on Truth Social, claiming Reiner died because of anger caused by what he called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” The post quickly spread online and upset many people. Popular podcaster Joe Rogan reacted strongly to Trump’s words. On his podcast, Rogan said the post was not funny, had no empathy, and crossed a line. His reaction added fuel to the growing criticism against the president.
Joe Rogan shared his thoughts during a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience. He said Donald Trump’s post made no sense in a caring society and showed a lack of basic compassion.
Joe Rogan said, “The Rob Reiner thing is not funny. There’s no justification for what he did that makes any sense in a compassionate society.” He added that mocking someone right after their death is wrong, no matter their political views.
To explain his point, Joe Rogan asked listeners to imagine if Barack Obama had made a similar post after someone died. He said people would have been shocked and outraged. Rogan explained that this shows how extreme Trump’s tone can be.
Other public figures also spoke out. Filmmaker James Cameron called Trump’s words “vile” in an interview with CNN. He praised Rob Reiner’s work, especially The Princess Bride, saying it brought joy to families for years.
Many people across Hollywood and politics shared kind messages about Rob Reiner. They remembered him as a talented filmmaker and a strong voice for his beliefs. While tributes continued to pour in, criticism of Donald Trump’s post also kept growing, with many saying leaders should show care during moments of tragedy, not mockery.
