After being left behind by McLaren’s Lando Norris during the 2025 Grand Prix finals at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The four-time world champion Max Verstappen recently provided a massive update about his association with Red Bull, potential Mercedes switch and his F1 career during a recent interview with the BBC Sport. He reflected on the important factors that influence his possible switch from Red Bull to Mercedes.

One of the leading star drivers in F1, Max Verstappen is widely known for his undying spirit on the circuit. Whether it's his devil-may -care attitude or his zest for the first position at the podium, the popular Dutchman is one of the most prominent faces of F1. During a recent interview with BBC Sports, Verstappen spoke about the multiple aspects of his possible switch from Red Bull to Mercedes. He reflected on factors that would come into play if he were to consider parting ways with Red Bull in the near future. He said,

“I think it's time to basically stop all the rumours, and for me it's always been quite clear that I was staying anyway. For me, it's not only about F1. There's a lot of things that have to come together for me to make a change.
Future roles, stuff like that. So if I ever would make a change, of course, it's a big one for me because this definitely feels like a second family, and that's not easy to replicate, let's say, like that.He further mentioned, "The change, if I ever make one, it's not only because I need a faster F1 car or I need a difference in the environment. There's a lot of things that are around my F1 career and things that I'm doing outside of F1 that all have to come together.
