Antonio Felix da Costa on winning the Jeddah E-Prix
An elated Antonio Felix da Costa shared several moments from the Jeddah E-Prix on Instagram, captioning the post: “History does not pray for the weak. VICTORY IS OURS! Thank you all.”
Speaking about adjusting to his new team after leaving Porsche, da Costa said, “Changing teams is hard. It’s very hard getting to know a new car, new people, everything. And it took me five races to win with Jaguar and, to be honest, in a way I feel like we could have done it earlier. But to do it in just five races, that's a big achievement. When you join a team as successful as Jaguar TCS Racing and with me being a previous champion and an ambitious athlete, this is always the goal, right? This is where we set the bar.”
Antonio Felix da Costa on his dynamic with Mitch Evans
Both Jaguar drivers now have one win each this season. Mitch Evans claimed victory in Miami and also finished third in the first race of the Jeddah doubleheader.
Praising his teammate, Antonio Felix da Costa added, “To have Mitch as a teammate has been really good. He's been really, really good, and we're helping each other. Today in the race, he let me go when I was on Attack Mode, and that was just awesome. We're building a really good dynamic together and yeah, hopefully it keeps going and hopefully both of us can be there at the end.”
Da Costa is currently seventh in the Formula E Drivers’ Standings with 39 points, while Evans sits fifth with 47 points.
