Jeddah E-Prix: Pascal Wehrlein wins in his 100th Formula E race, polesitter Edoardo Mortara finishes second

Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein continued his strong form after his Miami podium and claimed his first victory of the season at the Jeddah E-Prix on Friday. He started from third on the grid and recorded the fastest lap of 1m17.654s during the Round 4 race. The victory felt even more special for Wehrlein as he competed in his 100th E-Prix on Friday. He was joined on the podium by polesitter Edoardo Mortara of Mahindra Racing. Jaguar TCS Racing driver Mitch Evans finished third, securing his second consecutive podium after claiming victory in Miami.

Jeddah E-Prix Round 4 Results

Pascal Wehrlein had finished third in Miami and was eager for a win. He seized the opportunity by claiming victory at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on Friday.

Edoardo Mortara also deserves praise for capitalizing on his pole position. He finished second, claiming his second podium after his podium finish in Mexico City. Speaking after claiming the fourth pole of his Formula E career, he told FormulaE.com, “I pushed everything I had, probably slightly too much in the first sector, especially where I made some small mistakes. Luckily for us, it was enough. I was just giving my best, my very best today. Glad we secured the first position for Mahindra [since Berlin in 2024].”

Wehrlein’s Porsche teammate Nico Muller finished fourth, giving the team a strong points haul. He was followed by Jaguar TCS Racing’s Antonio Felix da Costa in fifth, Citroen Racing’s Nick Cassidy in sixth, and Envision Racing’s Sebastien Buemi in seventh. The other Citroen Racing driver, Jean-Eric Vergne, was eighth, with Andretti’s Jake Dennis in ninth and DS Penske’s Taylor Barnard in tenth.

FP1 winner Maximilian Gunther of DS Penske finished eleventh, while FP2 winner Dan Ticktum of Cupra Kiro finished twelfth.

What's next in Formula E?

Friday’s schedule will be repeated on Saturday for Round 5. This is the first race weekend of Season 12 under the lights. The day will begin with FP3 in the afternoon, followed by qualifying and then the Round 5 final under the lights at 8:05 p.m. local time (10:35 p.m. IST).

It will be followed by a special Formula E Evo Session on Sunday, with ten social media influencers taking to the track in GEN3 Evo cars.
