Andretti rookie Felipe Drugovich was leading the pack for a portion of the Miami E-Prix, but his race came to an abrupt halt after a collision with Antonio Felix da Costa resulted in a heavy penalty, ending any hopes of a podium or points finish. Drugovich clashed with da Costa in difficult wet conditions at the Miami International Autodrome. He later addressed the incident in a social media post, which da Costa acknowledged with a gracious response.

Felipe Drugovich received a 10-second time penalty for hitting Antonio Felix da Costa during the rain-soaked Miami E-Prix and finished 18th in the final classification. The contact sent the Jaguar TCS Racing driver into a spin, damaging his chances of fighting for a podium.Drugovich took to Instagram to reflect on the incident during Round 3 of the season. He wrote: “Busy end to a day here in Miami! Felt great in the car all day, P2 in qualifying, and we will definitely take that into the next one. Apologies to @afelixdacosta for the touch, I misjudged the gap I would have. Finally, let’s take the positives and head to Jeddah!”
Acknowledging the post, Antonio Felix da Costa commented: “Well done, bro.
It happens. Felt good to be fighting at the front today.” He also added a flexed bicep emoji.

Felipe Drugovich receives support for honest apology

Formula One driver Gabriel Bortoleto also commented on Drugovich’s post, writing: “Let’s go, brother!! Great attitude and a great race - on to the next one.” Bortoleto currently drives for Audi (formerly Kick Sauber) in Formula One.Maristela Drugovich, believed to be a family member, shared a lengthy message of support, praising Felipe’s performance throughout the weekend and highlighting the learning process involved in adapting to the car and racing conditions. She emphasized his continued progress and evolution, calling him a winner regardless of the final result.Drugovich follows Maristela on social media and is also the nephew of racing drivers Sergio Drugovich and Oswaldo Drugovich Jr.Earlier in the weekend, Felipe Drugovich took part in promotional activities at Ocean Drive ahead of Andretti’s home race.
