Blasters
are showing they are ready to be a challenger for the ISL title this season. While they had thrashed table-toppers
Mumbai City
FC in their last game, the Ivan Vukomanovic-coached side on Wednesday humbled
Chennaiyin
FC 3-0 in Vasco to extend their unbeaten run to six matches.
The margin of win is important as CFC had conceded the least number of goals (4) coming into the game and the marauding Blasters attackers had them at sixes and sevens.
The win took Blasters to third in the table with 12 points from seven games while CFC are sixth with 11 points from seven games.
Midfielder Lalthathanga Khawlhring chipped the ball over the CFC defence and Jorge Pereyra
Diaz
beat the offside trap with a perfectly timed run to take control of the delivery. With only
Vishal Kaith
to beat, Diaz didn't make any mistake and calmly slotted past the 'keeper. Blasters punished Chennaiyin once again in the 38th minute.
