Mitchell Starc to Shai Hope, And extra bounce comes in first up. On a good length, outside off, rising steeply, Shai Hope rises with it nicely and works it to the left of Sam Konstas at short leg for a single.
Here he is. Pretty surprised that Mitchell Starc was not given the ball straightaway this morning. 7-1-35-2 so far.
Josh Hazlewood to Roston Chase, Good length, in the channel and going straight on. Chase gets a stride across and shoulders arms.
Josh Hazlewood to Shai Hope, Good length on off, just eased away into the gap at covers and Hope is off the mark in his comeback Test match.
Josh Hazlewood to Shai Hope, Good follow-up delivery! Nagging length, this one nips back in towards middle and leg, and doesn't bounce much either. Shai Hope does well to keep it out.
Shai Hope walks in next, at number 7, replacing Brandon King.
Josh Hazlewood to Brandon King, OUT! BOWLED! Oh dear, King has left one trusting the bounce and it deceives him! Almost a replica of the dismissal of Jos Buttler in the 2019 Ashes in England's second innings in Manchester, where he left one alone off a similar length from Josh Hazlewood and it cannoned back in. Pretty sure that former England great Geoffrey Boycott would not be too impressed by this, as in his opinion, a batter has got the willow to wield, not leave the ball alone. Cannot totally blame King here though, as he has trusted the pitch's bounce on this occasion. Hazlewood has landed this on a good length outside off and got it to nip back in a long way. King perhaps thought that the ball will go over the stumps but to his dismay, it has hit the off stump. King stands there in dismay and amazement. He eventually starts walking off, having made a compact 26 and his dropped chance on exactly the same score, in Hazlewood's previous over, does not count for much. Australia have their first strike of the morning and West Indies are 72/5, trailing by 108!
Josh Hazlewood to Brandon King, First authoritative shot of the morning. Full, outside off, King leans and plays a solid drive through mid off, but it goes straight to the fielder.
Josh Hazlewood to Brandon King, A sharp bouncer, around middle and off, Brandon King ducks.
Pat Cummins to Roston Chase, Slips this one in a bit fuller and darts it back in from outside off. Roston Chase is late on the back-foot punch and just about pushes it out to covers.

Pat Cummins to Roston Chase, Hits the deck hard, jamming the ball on off, Chase gets pegged back but manages to jam it away in front of short leg.
The Australians are not quite happy with the shape of the ball and show it to umpire Richard Kettleborough for inspection. Kettleborough brings out the 8-shaped guage and the ball does not pass through one of the two hoops. So fair enough, the fourth umpire is called for, to bring out the box of replacement balls.
Pat Cummins to Roston Chase, On a good length, outside off, left alone.
Pat Cummins to Roston Chase, Another couple. To the other side this time. Too straight from Cummins and Chase works it through square leg. The deficit is now 108.
Pat Cummins to Roston Chase, On a good length, outside off, punched through the covers for a couple.
Josh Hazlewood to Brandon King, Fuller, outside off, driven straight to mid off. Another eventful over.
Josh Hazlewood to Brandon King, EDGED, DROPPED! A rare blemish in the field by Australia. But a big opportunity missed. Brandon King has looked the best of the Windies batters since last evening and he plays a really rash stroke. On a length, outside off, not there to be driven but King goes hard on the drive. The extra bounce induces an outside edge and the ball goes straight behind to the keeper, Alex Carey, who gets across to his right to take that catch but cannot hang on. The ball hits his right glove hard and pops up in the air, but Carey is far gone to his right to attempt the second time. Usman Khawaja at first slip tries to grab that chance with his left hand, but cannot cling on.
Josh Hazlewood to Brandon King, On a length, outside off, defended to the off side.
Josh Hazlewood to Brandon King, Nicely played. Full, outside off, Brandon King leans and drives this a bit uppishly. Lands well short of Josh Hazlewood in his followthrough to his left and he is unable to stop it. The ball goes through and by the time mid off can get around, two runs are taken.
Josh Hazlewood to Roston Chase, Almost seems like a plan to get the batters caught at short leg. A length ball, pretty straight, Chase leans and works it just past Sam Konstas at short leg, to his right, for a single in the deep. The batters are pretty much aware of Konstas and are focussed in trying to keep the ball as much on the ground as possible, when playing in that direction.
Josh Hazlewood to Roston Chase, On a good length, but pretty wide outside off. Roston Chase shoulders arms without much fuss.
Pat Cummins to Roston Chase, On a good length, outside off, Roston rises with the bounce and pushes it towards point for a run.

Pat Cummins to Roston Chase, Fuller, outside off, pushed towards point for a single.
Pat Cummins to Roston Chase, That is a snorter and is really handled well by Chase. Back of a length, around off, the skipper stays back to defend but the ball shoots off that length. However, the captain rises with the bounce, watches the ball till the last moment and defends it down on the pitch.
Plenty of breeze. One of the bails at the striker's end gets dislodged and King keeps it back. We saw this a couple of times on Day 1 as well.

Pat Cummins to Brandon King, Around off, pushed a bit uppishly towards mid off. Two eventful overs to start the day.
Pat Cummins to Brandon King, Down the leg side, Brandon King looks to flick it fine, but misses. The ball hits his pads and rolls down but keeper Alex Carey dives to his left and makes a half stop. King wanders around for the single but is sent back. Carey recovers quickly and has a shy at the striker's end as Sam Konstas gets across from short leg to collect the throw.
Pat Cummins to Roston Chase, DROPPED! Tough chance, but that's why that bloke is placed there. A length ball, around middle and leg, Chase looks to flick it away and connects well. Sam Konstas at deep short leg makes an instinctive movement to his left while the ball goes to his right. Sticks out his right hand, but is a second late and the ball bursts through his fingers to go behind. A single taken. The deficit is now 119.
Pat Cummins to Roston Chase, A short ball now, outside off, let through.

Pat Cummins to bowl from the other end. 6-2-8-1 so far.
Josh Hazlewood to Roston Chase, Now then. After a lot of deliberation, Pat Cummins has gone for the review for LBW. Inside edge seemed to be the main point of concern and the first replay indicates that there was a big inside edge. Early signs of desperation from the Aussies? On a length, outside off, Roston Chase looked to defend but the ball nipped back in and hit him on the pads. There was a massive shout from Sam Konstas at short leg but the umpire moved away. The ball deflected towards fine leg and the batters took a single. Hazlewood was not that interested but Cummins came in to discuss with his players and with 3 seconds left on the clock, signals for the review. UltraEdge confirms a big spike when the ball is near the bat but for some reason, Cummins looks bemused. That's because there are two angles shown - one straight on and one from the side angle. Now, the Aussies feel that the spike is when the ball hits the pad and not the bat, but the evidence is clear enough that the spike was off the bat. Review lost by the Aussies and really surprising to see their body language so frustrated early in the morning. Have to blame Sam Konstas for this review, because he was the closest to the batter and should have known whether there was wood involved or not.
Josh Hazlewood to Roston Chase, On a good length, outside off, stays a touch low, RC shoulders arms.
Josh Hazlewood to Roston Chase, Around off, pushed down towards mid on.
Josh Hazlewood to Roston Chase, Another beauty. On a length again, probably fuller than the previous one. Roston comes forward to defend but the ball pitches and nips back in, to beat the outside edge and the stumps.
Josh Hazlewood to Roston Chase, Boom. There comes that lift. On a good length, outside off, Chase stays back to defend but the ball shoots up suddenly, catching him on the gloves. Drops down on the leg side.
Josh Hazlewood to Roston Chase, On a good length, outside off, steep bounce, Roston Chase lets it go.
Right then. All set for proceedings to begin on Day 2. The overnight batters, debutant Brandon King and skipper Roston Chase, walk out to the middle. It will be Josh Hazlewood to start off proceedings against the Windies' skipper. Here we go...
PITCH REPORT - Former T20 World Cup winner CARLOS BRATHWAITE is observing the deck again. Brathwaite says that this wicket gives them a perfect mix of different lengths and when you talk about bowling plans, that on the shortish length, the ball did a bit more as there was extra nip and bounce. Gives the example of the wicket of Keacy Carty, as on the ball before the wicket, the length was fuller and the bounce was low. But on the next ball, Cummins dragged the length back and immediately, there was extra bounce, which induced the outside edge. Reckons that if you keep bowling in the same areas consistently, the bowlers will have positive results.
