...THE CHASE...

Oman toiled hard for wickets and to stem the run flow. Till the halfway mark, they took the beating but Oman brilliantly pulled things back in the middle phase to get back in the game. However, they failed to stick to the process as United Arab Emirates once again found their rhythm to put Oman on the back foot. Oman bowled well in patches and also looked rusty on the field. It was not their best performance but they could turn things around by chasing this. It won't be a straightforward chase as the pitch is two-paced and will hope the top three make amends. United Arab Emirates have surpassed the 170-mark but the way the openers were batting, it felt like they will touch 190. Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Waseem struggled to get going but once they put on the skating boots, runs started to fly. The United Arab Emirates scored 50 runs in the Powerplay with Alishan Sharafu the aggressor. He fell right after his fifty while the skipper, Waseem, was dropped twice in consecutive overs when he was in his 30s, took his time before launching his fifty. His 24th fifty, which helped him cross the 3000-run mark in the T20Is as well.

A finish with a flurry by United Arab Emirates. 26 runs were scored in the final two overs, which replenished the idea of posting a big target. United Arab Emirates will be confident going into the chase, while Oman will hope they could have bowled a bit better in the initial phase.
