However, when it does reach the bat, there is no gap between bat and ball and it is conclusive enough to overturn the onfield call. NOT OUT!

The ball then lobs up off the arm and to the right of backward short leg where Head dives across and pouches it safely. Mathews departs for 41(59) and Sri Lanka in deep, deep trouble here.

He was looking so good in the middle and now has to trudge back reflecting on that shot. Matthew Kuhnemann tosses this one up, on middle and turns it in, Kamindu Mendis skips down the track for a heave across the line and manages to reach to the pitch of the ball. Doesnt get the timing on the shot right and skies it straight down the throat of Mitchell Starc at deep mid-wicket. Sri Lanka are now 114/4 and trails by 375 runs.
