... Day 3, Evening session ...
A comparatively frustrating session for the Indian bowlers. They did not concede too many runs but would be frustrated not to wrap up the tail. They came close but for a change the rub of the green went the other way. India would now hope that the Tea break brings in a lapse of concentration and they can end the innings quickly. South Africa, on the other hand, would hope that Maharaj and Philander continue to be a thorn for the hosts. What will happen? Join us after the break to find out.
India got rid of Muthusamy and Faf du Plessis in the first hour of the session. The latter played really well before his departure and when he fell it looked like South Africa would bundle out under 200 but Maharaj and Philander fought it out and made sure they frustrated the Indian bowlers, in the process ensuring that South Africa had no more casualties heading into Tea.
Commendable performance from Keshav Maharaj and Vernon Philander. Forget about batting through the session, it felt like South Africa would bat twice in this session but Philander and Maharaj had other ideas.
