RR vs RCB Highlights, IPL 2025: Salt, Kohli lead RCB's 9-wicket win over RR

Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru, IPL 2025: Phil Salt's dynamic innings of 65 from 33 deliveries set the stage, whilst Virat Kohli's milestone 50th T20 half-century sealed a commanding nine-wicket victory for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL on Sunday.

The decision to field first proved advantageous on a pitch with inconsistent bounce, though Yashasvi Jaiswal's skilful 75 from 47 balls highlighted Rajasthan Royals' innings of 173/4.

The Sawai Mansingh Stadium pitch presented challenging batting conditions, yet Salt's aggressive approach caught the home side off guard.

His innings featured six maximums and five boundaries, putting immediate pressure on RR's bowling attack.

His powerful display, complemented by Kohli's composed 62 not out from 45 deliveries (4x4, 2x6), enabled RCB to achieve the target of 174 comfortably, concluding the match in 17.3 overs.

This victory marked RCB's fourth success of the season, all achieved in away fixtures.

Salt demonstrated his aggressive intent immediately, sending Jofra Archer's delivery for six in the first over whilst surviving a close leg-before appeal.

His innovative batting technique, moving across the stumps to target the leg side, helped him reach his second half-century of the tournament in 28 balls, reducing the required runs to under 100 by the eighth over.

Earlier, 23-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal (75) struck 10 fours and two sixes, handling the sluggish track with poise while others around him struggled.

In the death overs, Dhruv Jurel (35* off 23) played a useful cameo, which took RR past the 170-run mark.
