CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu's D Hemalatha was on Sunday named in the 14-member India A women's squad for the two warm-up matches against Australia eves to be held at the held at BKC in Mumbai on March 6 and 8. The 23-year-old had recently led Tamil Nadu in the U-23 South Zone one-dayers at Hyderabad.
Hemalatha has been in rich vein of form, scoring runs consistently and has been among the wickets as well. Hemalatha caught the attention of many when she hit a 61-ball 90 that contained 9 fours and two sixes and helped Tamil Nadu senior women's side script a whopping 103-run win over Jammu & Kashmir in the Twenty20 clash here last month.
The same tournament saw Hemalatha make a mark with the ball as well - returning with figures of 2 for 6 - as Tamil Nadu registered a thrilling 3-run win over Punjab eves. Hemalatha had a good run in the recently-concluded U-23 South Zone clashes - with knocks of 58 (against Kerala) and 49 (versus Hyderabad) - being among the noteworthy ones. Hemalatha is the only player from Tamil Nadu to be part of the squad.

Nuzhat Parween is the specialist wicketkeeper in the team. After the completion of the warm-up encounters, the visiting side will be heading to Baroda to be part of the three-match Paytm ODI series against India eves.
