The Mumbai Indians had a shaky start as G Kamalini missed an early chance, dropping Beth Mooney for a duck in the opening over. However, they quickly struck back by removing Sophie Devine. The middle overs were a bit loose, allowing some runs to leak through, but the bowlers regrouped after the halfway stage, delivering tight spells and picking up crucial wickets. Shabnim Ismail stood out as the star bowler, while Hayley Matthews, Amelia Kerr, and Nicola Carey each chipped in with a wicket, though they were somewhat expensive.

The Gujarat Giants finished strong, scoring 62 runs in the final five overs to post an imposing total of 192/5 in their 20 overs. Sent in to bat, the Giants lost Devine early, while Beth Mooney survived a scare in the first over. The team steadily found the boundaries at regular intervals, keeping the scoreboard ticking. Mooney and Kanika Ahuja put together a brisk 42-run partnership for the second wicket, laying a solid foundation. However, the middle overs proved challenging as they lost momentum around the 10th over, slipping to 99/4. Georgia Wareham then took charge, crafting a composed 43 off 33 balls, while Bharti Fulmali turned up the aggression, smashing 36 runs off just 15 balls. Their efforts propelled the Giants past the 190-run mark, giving them a commanding total to defend.
