Kousik ton helps TNCA Districts XI nail Saurashtra

CHENNAI: J Kousik's unbeaten 104 helped TNCA Districts XI edge past Saurashtra by one wicket in their Kalpathi AGS Buchi Babu clash at the Murugappa Ground on Saturday.
Chasing 297, TNCA Districts XI saw No 7 Kousik team up with No 10 M Mohammed (46) to put on 104 runs in 26.2 overs for the ninth wicket to help their side reach home.
For the losing side, left-arm spinner Jay Chauhan was the pick of the lot, returning with figures of four for 82. Dharmendra Jadeja (3 for 69) and Shaurya (2 for 43) too played their parts.
TNCA Districts XI are all set to lock horns with TNCA President's XI in the semifinals at SSN College ground.
TNCA President's XI scored a comfortable six-wicket win over Assam at the Pachaiyappa's Ground. Chasing 177, the home rode handy knocks from L Suryapprakash (66 n.o) and R Rohith (55) to overhaul the target and enter the last-four stage of the competition.
Hyderabad, at the SRMC Ground, proved to be too hot for their opponents TNCA XI, scoring an 88-run win. After having scored 354-9, Hyderabad managed to restrict their opposition to 266 in 75.4 overs.
Mehdi Hasan (5 for 78) was the wrecker-in-chief for the winners and was well-supported by teammate Amol Shinde (4 or 56). Hyderabad will face Uttar Pradesh in the other semifinal at Pachaiyappa's College Ground.
Meanwhile, Mumbai registered a two-wicket win over Chhattisgarh at the SSN College ground. Mumbai, chasing 351, saw top contributions from Vaidikmurkar (104) and Shivam Dubey (121).
