CHENNAI: D Hemalatha hit her second successive one-day hundred, scoring a breezy 139 to star in Yellow Challengers' 73-run win over Blue Avengers in their TNCA Indian Bank clash here on Monday. Taking first strike, Challengers rode Hemalatha's 121-ball essay to post 244 in 49.5 overs. Hemalatha's knock contained 19 boundaries and 2 sixes. In the company of Swathi (17), Hemalatha added 99 for the third wicket to provide momentum to the innings.
For the bowling side, Meenakshi (4 for 39), Nida Rehman (2 for 29) and P Anusha (2 for 33) shone with the ball. In reply, Blue Avengers were restricted to 171 in 44.1 overs despite a spirited show by Anusha (63, 7x4). Hemalatha (3 for 21) and Ramyashri (2 for 13) were the standout performers for Challengers.
In another match, V Vilasini (110, 9x4) was the leading scorer for White Warriors as they beat Green Invaders by 101 runs. Vilasini helped Warriors end on 222 for 8 in their quota of 50 overs. D Nisha (34) was the other notable contributor for the Warriors. Invaders, in reply, were never really in the chase and folded up for 121 in 47.4 overs. Vilasini (2 for 15), Anusha (2 for 17), R Radha (2 for 13) led the show with the ball for the winners.
The third match of the day saw Silver Strikers defeat Red Rangers by 48 runs. Silvers Strikers scored 161 batting first, and in response, bowled out their opposition for 113. Shushanthika - 2 for 22 with the ball and 30 with the bat - was the notable performer for Rangers.
