GG vs RCB, WPL Live Score: Gujarat Giants crumble in chase, RCB win by 61 runs

GG vs RCB, WPL Live Score: Gautami Naik struck a fine half-century to steer Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a 61-run win over Gujarat Giants and ensure a top-three finish in the Women's Premier League here on Monday.

Unbeaten so far, RCB registered their fifth straight win in the tournament and became the first team to book a knock-out berth.

Sent in to bat, table-toppers RCB didn't have the best of starts, losing Grace Harris and Georgia Voll inside the second over with the scoreboard reading just nine before Naik held the innings together to take RCB to a respectable 178 for six.

Chasing, GG never got their acts together from the word go, losing four wickets for 34 by the seventh over.

Beth Mooney, Sophie Devine, Anushka Sharma and Kanika Ahuja departed early.

Kshvee Gautam and Georgia Wareham too didn't help their side's cause.

Skipper Ashleigh Gardner (54 off 43 balls) and Bharti Fulmali (14) tried to resurrect their innings but failed.

Gardner struck five boundaries and one six during her knock but it was not enough as GG finished at 117 for 8.

Right-arm medium pacer Sayali Satghare continued her fine form and turned out to be the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/21.

She was ably supported by Nadine de Klerk (2/17).

GG W vs RCB W, WPL Live Score: Test of form at new venue
The shift from Navi Mumbai to Vadodara adds a fresh layer to this contest.

RCB have built confidence and rhythm over their opening four matches, even in the absence of Ellyse Perry, with different players stepping up at key moments.

Carrying that form into a new venue will be their next test. Gujarat Giants, meanwhile, will look to use home conditions to their advantage and reverse recent results.

Having already faced RCB once this season, they know the scale of the challenge. With both teams at different points in their campaigns, Monday’s match could either cement RCB’s early dominance or offer Gujarat a chance to reset their season.

Gujarat Giants Women vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women Live: Bowling battle in focus
One of the main talking points heading into this contest is Gujarat Giants’ bowling beyond the powerplay.

While they have conceded just 7.75 runs per over early on, their economy rate rises sharply once the field spreads.

Between overs seven and 16, they have been the most expensive side in the tournament, and the trend continues at the death.

These issues have cost them matches, including recent losses where sizeable totals proved insufficient.

RCB’s ability to pace their innings and accelerate late has been a strength so far.

How Gujarat’s bowlers, including Renuka Singh, Kashvee Gautam, Gardner and Wareham, respond under pressure could decide the outcome.

GG vs RCB Live Score: Gujarat search for consistency
Gujarat Giants began their campaign with two wins but have since slipped after consecutive defeats.

Led by Ashleigh Gardner, they remain in contention but will need a more complete performance to challenge an unbeaten RCB side.

Their batting line-up features Beth Mooney, Sophie Devine, Gardner, Georgia Wareham and Bharti Fulmali, but recent matches have highlighted gaps between strong starts and finishing efforts.

Devine has been the standout performer with bat and ball, while others have struggled to maintain pressure through all phases.

With the ball, GG have been effective early but have conceded heavily in the middle and death overs. Addressing those phases will be key as they play in Vadodara.

Gujarat Giants Women vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women Live: RCB riding confidence wave
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) enter this match with momentum firmly on their side.

Four wins from four matches have made them the team to beat this season.

The return to form of captain Smriti Mandhana has further strengthened their position, with her 96 against Delhi Capitals playing a key role in an eight-wicket win on Saturday.

RCB’s batting has found contributors across games, with Grace Harris providing starts and Georgia Voll scoring an unbeaten 54 in the previous outing.

The middle order, featuring Richa Ghosh and Nadine de Klerk, adds depth, while the bowling unit has found balance through pace options Lauren Bell and Sayali Satghare, supported by spinners Shreyanka Patil, Prema Rawat and Radha Yadav.
